What is this course about?

To learn the basics of programming, we will use several different languages at one time. We will also learn the basics of one of the most common languages ​​on the Internet – JavaScript. In order for you to see the result of your work, we will get acquainted with the basics of HTML and CSS, with the help of which any page on the Internet is created.

The course does not set the task to make you experts in this language. It will be used only as an example to show that it is not difficult to learn programming. We will go through not only languages, but also various programmer tools, such as text editors, Git, etc.

One of the main goals of the course is to show how to approach the study of programming, what is the difference between self-education and attending courses, what it means to become a good developer.


Alisher Mamunov

From September 2016 he taught robotics course for children at Ilim TechLab at the Ilim center. Alisher jointly with other teachers developed his own courses: Lego WeDo (WeDo 2.0), Lego Mindstorms, and many other experimental courses. Alisher has more than 4 years of programming experience. In addition to self-study of programming using books and open online resources, he successfully completed courses on EDX - CS50 (Harvard) and Udacity (Fullstack-web developer). Alisher is fluent in both Python and C. He also worked as a web developer at Diagnostic Lab Health and Ilim TechLab.

Course content

The goal of the first week is to master the basic HTML and CSS syntax, create several Internet pages, practice using Git, understand where and how to search for information.
The goal of the second week is to get acquainted with the basics of programming, to understand the basic data types, the concept of variables, functions, and cycles in JS. In practice, you will test your knowledge creating simple browser games.
The goal of the third week is to master some ready-made solutions for web development (bootstrap, etc.) and try to create a simple website - a business card for your work / study / home / hobby.
The goal of the fourth week is to use all the tools studied in the past lessons and make the final project that you will be proud of. Also, we will summarize and understand what to do next, how to choose a direction in IT.
